Propain launched a new bike this week, the Tyee Trail. It is available in an aluminium (AL) or carbon version (CF). The Tyee Trail sits between the short-travel Hugene (130 mm rear travel) and the Tyee Enduro (160 mm rear travel).
Over the years the Tyee model evolved gradually in a platform for heavy duty enduro use. With the new Trail, Propain offers a second option for riders who prioritize touring, climbing, and everyday versatility.
The frame lost half a kilogram in weight versus the Enduro version and comes with a lightweighted package of components. Geometry is slightly steeper for a more dynamic ride on singletracks. The proprietary PRO10 suspension platform delivers excellent small-bump sensitivity.
The Tyee trail has a new upper rocker link driving a 210×50 mm shock that supplies 145 mm of travel. Suspension in the front is 160 mm but forks up till 170 mm can be fitted easily in case of you want to go for a rougher ride.
A flip chip makes it possible to run either 29″ or 27.5″ rear wheels in size medium and up, with no change to the frame angles. The size small rolls on 27.5″ wheels front and rear.
Top of the range is the CF Factory version featuring a SRAM XX drivetrain, a FOX suspension system and DT Swiss EXC 1200 wheels. This would give you a fairly light bike for fast tracks, steep climbs and occasional bike park use.
