Intend introduced new versions of the Samurai forks, their answer to the XC world of mountain biking. The new range includes new XC versions for both 29” and 32” wheels and a trail/enduro version (29” only). The Samurai is the first buyable 32” fork on the market so perhaps the hype becomes closer to the new reality? Intend is at least ready for it.
A new Intend Energizer cartridge has been developed for XC use, a mini version of the OPT damper we know of their enduro range but adding a 3-position lock-out to it. The reason being that most XC riders would benefit from the Energizer when the going gets a little bit rougher on track.
And with the introduction of the Energizer cartridge, you now have two options to choose from for XC use. Either one with Intend’s Energizer or one for fitting a RockShox Charger Raceday cartridge, depending on your preferences.
The travel of the Raceday version is max 120 mm, for the Energizer 130 mm. Difference in weight is only 10 grams, so that would not be a dealbreaker. Both options are available in a 29” and 32” setup.
Intend developed a new crown for the 32” version and the new enduro/trail fork, the Samurai Supertrail. This crown has been CNC machined from a billet of aluminium and would add more sturdiness. All forks are designed, engineered and tested in Freiburg, Germany. Assembled 100% in-house and by hand, one at a time.
