The Ribble Outliers is Ribble’s own gravel racing team. And that gave them great input in developing their next level gravel racing bike, the Ultra-Grit.
One of the key elements to consider was the aerodynamic performance. Especially in gravel racing, riders stay alone or ride in a small group for a long time. Aerodynamics can save watts when and where possible.
This resulted in a new frame with aerodynamic features for watt saving. But by using a new carbon fiber mix, Ribble managed to get the weight of the frame at only 900 grams. A great outcome, especially considering the somewhat chuncky downtube. That same downtube holds a storage compartment for your repair kit and energy bar, so handy in case of need.
Riding comfort is considered with the dropped seat stays and d-shaped seat post. And by allowing wider tyres to be fitted, up till 50 mm.
The Ultra-Grit comes with SRAM’s Red XPLR AXS, a carbon integrated cockpit, Zipp 303 carbon wheels, Schwalbe G-One R tyres and a 3D printed Selle Italia Novus Boost saddle. At request, it can be upgraded with a RockShox Ultimate front suspension to attack rougher tracks.
