The new Selle Italia SLR Racing Replica is light, responsive and ready for competitive racing. It is designed for riders who want the maximum performance form a saddle. Like Mathieu van der Poel.
The weight of the new Racing Replica is just 109 grams. A result of a long weight-saving design process. Advanced technologies make sure that is not only light but meet today’s performance requirements at the same time.
At the core of the SLR Racing Replica lies its Carbon Fiber Skeleton: a shaped carbon structure developed in collaboration with Austrian technology partner Fibionic. This solution allows for an ultra-thin shell of just 1.5 mm thick while preserving a high level of rigidity where it matters most. And extensive road tests conclude that the new saddle remains stiff over time in long, high intensity racing conditions.
The saddle length has been reduced to 242 mm, six millimetres shorter than the SLR Boost version. Padding has also been completely reengineered: it is now shorter and minimal in the rear section, a result of Selle Italia’s idmatch pressure map technology. The carbon rails (Ø7×9 mm) have been created with a brand-new carbon layup to ensure lightness and resistance, and an improved rail angle delivers better vibration absorption.
Now let’s see if Mathieu stays in the saddle on the Muur this afternoon during Omloop het Nieuwsblad.
The SLR Racing Replica is available in two sizes:
S3: 130 x 242 mm, 106 grams
