TREK celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The brand has its origins in mountain biking. But the only ‘new’ mountain bike for 2026 is the Fuel, the 7th generation.
Our favourite is the Fuel EX 9.9 X0 AXS, with 14 kg the lightest in the range. So, there is still room for a weight upgrade if you wish to do so. But for an all-trail bike, it is ready for short climbs and long downhills as it stands.
The carbon frame of the Fuel EX 9.9 XO AXS partners with a RockShock Deluxe Ultimate shock and Lyrik Ultimate fork. With 145 mm of travel in the rear and 150 mm up front, it would give you all the suspension you need for rowdy roots and jump lines.
The wireless SRAM XO AXS transmission allows for smooth shifting in all circumstances. Braking force is supplied by SRAM’s Maven Silver 4-piston brakes. Carbon wheels are supplied by house-brand Bontrager and the RockShox wireless dropper makes sure you are well prepared for steep downhills.
The Trek Fuel EX comes in three different colours and you can opt for a carbon or aluminium version.
