Local hero Max Alran of the Commencal Muc-Off team took his first UCI Downhill World Cup win in Les Gets yesterday. His tool, the new Commencal Supreme DG V5.2. A further development of the initial V5 offering more control, precision and speed. And it secured the win in front of an insane crowd.
Although Max is riding in the Muc-Off team colours, silver finish and pink fork, the V5.2 Team Replica is as close as you can get to the real deal. It has improved in an optimised kinematic design, a redesigned rear triangle and enhanced integration.
The High Virtual Contact System (HVCS) has evolved in the rear triangle area. The pivot point located near the rear axle has now moved from the chain stays to the seat stays. This gains responsiveness and accelerations on faster sections and provides more comfort and traction at the same time.
Braking performance has improved by placing the rear caliper between the chain and seat stays, preventing impact on the suspension activity. The new frame also includes better chain protection materials and the UDH standard, making it compatible with the latest available drivetrains like the XX DH T-type derailleur.
A flip chip at the shock anchor allows adjustment of the suspension kinematics. It has four settings that can be adapted depending on how you ride or what you’re riding. You can adjust the high and low linear and progressivity position. Optionally, you can adjust the chain stay length as well if you wish.
The Commencal Supreme DH V5.2 Team Replica bike comes with a RockShox Boxxer Ultimate fork, RockShox Vivid Air Ultimate shocks, a SRAM XX Downhill drivetrain and Crankbrothers DH Alloy 2.0 wheels (27,5”/29”). Weight: 18,8 kg. Price*: € 9.985.
