The Spain based Vertical already had a light dropper with the Helium, but the new Helium Race is even lighter, more stable and technically advanced. They claim it to be the lightest in the world.
An important development is the newly designed mounting plate for the saddle, the so-called Carbolink. It uses carbon fiber straps to connect one mooring to the other and allow for rotation. The titanium bolt provides stability and saves weight.
The aluminium tube has been given a special anodising for optimal sliding behaviour and reduction of wear. The clamping area is reinforced with 90° fibers to prevent the tube from becoming oval. The result: a weight reduction of between 15 and 30 grams compared to standard models. A special varnish with abrasive particles has been applied that improves fixation without the need for excessive tightening.
The dropper can be adjusted with a remote control but is not included in the price below.
