The MKII is the result of two years of development at Partington. In order to achieve a wheel that is the lightest in its class today. And with an outstanding high lateral stiffness (~55/mm) and a very low weight, the MKII is a great buy for those seaking an exceptional set of wheels offering both comfort and loads of responsiveness.

Spokes contain 108,000 continuous filaments (carbon threads) carrying the tension as it exits the rim, wraps around the hub and terminates back at the rim, maintaining load throughout and minimizing stress at the spoke to hub junction. This construction allows the use of only 10 (long) spokes for 20 rim holes, eliminating slack and optimizing stiffness.

Without the holes to hold spokes, the hubs are much stiffer as well. They are ‘packed’ in a carbon shell that makes it a great look at a very low weight. Bearings are supplied by CeramicSpeed and provide excellent smoothness. And with applying inner space between bearings and hub, a so called “floating hub system” can be achieved. This construction lowers the pressure on the bearings and as thus optimizes a smooth ride.

The Partington wheelset comes at a premium price but features premium in-house technology using the best materials out there.
