Formula recently introduced its new Selva V, an air-spring fork for enduro and all mountain use. And with a factory in the Italian Tuscany region, it is easy to test it all day long close to home. These rocky trails require a set-up that is precise, consistent and comfortable and the Selva V delivers just that.
The fork features a new air spring, a refined chassis holding 35 mm stanchions and a proven damper. The spring uses a floating piston design for less friction and a more consistent feel all the way through. And the unique spring-pressure air valve makes it possible to balance the pressure between both positive and negative air chambers.
The fork comes with different compression tuning valves (CTS) that makes it easy to change the right compression in a few minutes. The CTS valve is housed underneath the low-speed compression knob. To swap the valves you remove the knob, unthread the valve and switch the type of valve. The CTS range consists of eight valves that transform the way your fork behaves. See image below explaining the differences in compression pressure. It is a great way to set-up your fork according to the various track and riding conditions.
The Integrated Locking System is a removable quick release lever for the fork’s 15 mm thru-axle. It prevents over tightening of the axle.
All of this adds up to the lowest friction fork Formula has ever made, making this their most responsive fork ever. And the good thing, all accessories are included.
