Loïc Bruni and the riders of the Specialized Gravity team have already been spotted at the start of the WC 2025 season using a different set of brakes. It was hard to identify them with certainty, but now it became clear: Specialized Gravity entered a collaboration with Brembo.
The riders of the Specialized Gravity team ride on Brembo prototype brakes throughout the 2025 mountain bike season, with the aim of using the race as a laboratory and meeting the demands of the athletes. However, there is no mention of series production or marketing at this stage.
The COO of Brembo’s motorcycle division, Andrea Paganessi, explains: “It is a great challenge for Brembo to officially enter the cycling world at the highest level of professional downhill racing. We’re proud to do so with a brand that shares the same vision of performance and innovation. And it is no coincidence that this comes in the year of the 50th anniversary of Brembo’s entry into the world of motorsport. »
Specialized’s CEO Armin Landgraf emphasizes: “Downhill bikes are getting faster, the tracks are getting harder and harder, and athletes are constantly redefining the limits of what you can ride. In this context, brakes play a crucial role. The Specialized Gravity team needed a new braking partner to accompany this progress, and Brembo delivered. This partnership represents an investment in cutting-edge technologies to support our athletes at the highest level. »
Although the partnership between Specialized and Brembo is currently focused solely on competition, its spirit reflects a common belief: when athletes are empowered to push their limits, innovation follows.
