Scope developed the Artech technology in close collaboration with the TU Delft (specialized in aerospace engineering). The rim shape is based on the so-called Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics (AEA) technology. This algorithm optimizes the most aerodynamic rim-profile as offered by Scope. Looks are very distinctive and resemble a bit the scales of a fish.
With a rim profile of 65 mm high and a set weight of only 1.244 grams, the Artech 6 combines aerodynamics at a weight level you normally only see for shallow climbing wheels. Nevertheless, the Artech 6 provides a high lateral stiffness and doesn’t compromise in durability.
The 23 mm internal width hooked tire bed is aerodynamically optimized for 28 mm clincher- and tubeless tires. External width is 31 mm. Max tire pressure is 125 psi.
The set comes with Scope Artech hubs and carbonlite aerospokes (18f, 24r) and a centerlock brake interface. Tubeless valves and rim tape are pre-installed. An upgrade to a set with CeramicSpeed bearings would set you back an additional € 500* but would make sense in this price range.
Weight: 1.244 grams
Price*: € 3.998 (plus € 500 for CeramicSpeed upgrade)
