The Canadian based Devinci launched the all-new 2026 Spartan last week. It’s the fourth generation since its introduction back in 2013. Leaving carbon as a material behind, this bike is all aluminium.
The frame features a Split Pivot suspension design and is intended for enduro, freeride use. Technical trails should be overcome easily with 165 mm of travel in the rear and 170 mm in the front.
The bike comes standard with a 29” front wheel and 27,5” in the back. However, a flip chip at the lower shock allows you to ride 29” as a set. Another flip chip makes the chain stay length 7 mm adjustable, just select short or long. Short stands for a snappy, long for a stable ride.
The Spartan offers easy access to bolts for all-day maintenance purposes. It features a down tube storage area combined with a bottle holder. All cables are nicely stashed away internally.
Geometry is completely updated with a higher stack height, a steeper seat tube angle, and up to four possible configurations thanks to the flip chips as mentioned earlier. On top of that, a 63.5/63° head angle delivers maximum confidence on the descents.
The aluminium frame makes the bike sturdy and stable, ready for rough all-terrain use. Downside is the higher weight. A complete bike comes in a total weight of 17 kg. So, it leaves room for weight upgrades over time.
Devinci calls the new Spartan “the war machine that will be your best ally when it’s time to hit the trails, with zero compromise”. The perfect bike for a tough spin during your lunch break (see video).
