What does Officina Bataglin in common with the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani and Maserati? Yes, the new Modena, the lightest carbon/titanium frame Officina Battaglin ever made. Engineered in close collaboration with a motorsports engineering team.
This collaboration expanded the way of thinking about premium bike manufacturing. Titanium was used in areas where resilience and vibration damping matter most, forged carbon on places where stiffness and steering precision is needed. The result, a frame that is in line with the way Officina Battaglin produced bicycles for many years, but with one exception, the highest possible performance a frame can offer.
Modena’s tubes meet at oversized titanium lugs, 3D printed. The only way to ensure the flawless continuity between the individual tubes. The head tube, seat tube and rear triangle of the Modena are made of forged carbon, produced entirely in Italy and cured in an autoclave. Autoclave curing compacts the carbon under heat and pressure, removing voids and delivering the same consistency from one part to the next, the same process trusted for motorsport components.
The top tube and down tube are drawn from Columbus Hyperion titanium in Ti-3Al-2.5V alloy (Grade 9), with the name of the Milanese tube maker stamped on them. Grade 9 titanium offers the perfect balance between strength and vibration damping capacity. It makes your ride both fast and comfortable.
The Modena is produced in small batches and made-to-measure. Once size and finish are confirmed, the Modena is completed and custom-finished in Italy in one of the cromovelato finishes available. Price* for the frameset starts at € 6.000. Weight: 1.290 grams.
Total builds can be ordered on the Officina Battaglin website. We truly appreciate the Campagnolo Super Record drivetrain and wheels. To complete this Italian beauty as one of the best builds in the Modena Valley. Sorry petrolheads.
