Finally, it is ready for you to order, the ooKEV carbon/titanium gravel bike by Curve Cycling. The prototype was introduced last year and after a long period of testing, testing and some more testing, it is ready to be pre-ordered. And make this gravel race weapon yours.
The ooKev features 3D-printed titanium lugs in a carbon tube construction. This combination allows the weight to go down and both stiffness and comfort go up. The carbon tubes are glued with a special aerospace adhesive chosen for its strength and its resistance to all sort of weather conditions. And we know it can be extremely hot Down Under where Curve HQ is based.
The oversized carbon downtube and chain stays deliver stiffness where it counts. The ovalized top tube and minimal seat stay focus on comfort and weight savings. All cabling is tucked away inside; Curve added a 3D printed titanium sleeve inside the steerer, the Neo Plug, allowing internal routing without upsizing the upper bearing and installing a Curve Race 415 carbon fork.
The bike as displayed above features Curve’s own carbon race Walmer Bar, 40 cm wide and with just 225 grams, seriously light. Rigorously tested to gravel riding standards. The wheels are in-house assembled as well, ready to race on serious tracks. A SRAM RED drivetrain is installed; the stem is a Darimo IX4AL.
The guys at Curve managed to come up with a gravel bike that is both seriously attractive and ready to race in the toughest conditions. This is the result of precision engineering at its finest. To admire and to ride. Although pre-ordering comes with a nine-month lead time, this baby is worth the wait.
