Today’s post is a personal tribute to the German brand Ghost, part of the Accell Group, the company that filed for bankruptcy yesterday. The Ghost Lector FS is one of the bikes I am riding for a few years now, and with a big smile on my face. It is a great trail bike, especially on punchy hills and fast single tracks. Hopefully the brand, and the others, will survive the next weeks to come.
The Lector FS has been the favourite XC weapon of the Ghost Factory Team, once featuring Dutch rider Anne Terpstra among others. When the team stopped the UCI pro competition, Anne moved to the Lapierre PXR Racing Team in 2026, Lapierre being a brand of the Accell Group as well.
The lightweight carbon frame of the FS, and the 120 mm front and 110 mm rear travel, ensure control and speed. Top of the Lector FS range is the Pro edition offering a SRAM GX AXS 12-speed drivetrain, RockShox SID Ultimate suspension, RS dropper post and DT-Swiss XRC 1501 wheels. It comes in an appealing olive grey/amber blaze glossy finish and is priced* at € 7.499.
Total weight of the bike is about 11,8 kg so there is plenty of room for further tuning, just like I did.
If you manage to get your hands on one of the Ghost FS models, you won’t regret it. You’ll be having lots of fun, just like Anne in the video below a few years back.
Hopefully the group will sort out the financial situation soon and the brands can be continued. And all the best to the people involved. Take care.
