We admit, we were not familiar with the Brazilian brand Caloi until recently. But this company has been around for 128 years, so definitely worth to have a closer look at, especially when they launch a new XC bike model.

The design of the new Elite Carbon FS Racing caught our eyes immediately. The combination of champaign/brown/black colours sure gives it an elite look.  According to Caloi, this carbon full suspension bike is the right choice for performance-oriented riders.

The frame has an aggressive geometry allowing for fast accelerations without loosing control. On both climbs and more challenging terrains. And the Vittoria Barzo and Mezcal tyres offer plenty of traction at a low rolling resistance. The skinnwall version match the frame beautifully.  

The Elite features the so-called Hybrid Travel technology which allows the rider to adjust the rear travel between 100-110 mm adapting the bike to different types of terrain. Suspension is supplied by RockShox, a 120 mm SID Select in the front, a Deluxe Select+ shock in the rear, both with remote lockout.

The 12- speed electronic Shimano Deore drivetrain offers precision in shifting. Brakes are from the same range. Wheels are by Vzan, the dropper post by TransX.

We think that the Caloi Elite Carbon FS Racing is a great choice when you aim for a full suspension XC bike with a racy geometry. And it leaves plenty of opportunities for possible upgrades over the course of time.
